They walk among us, going about their daily tasks. But in their humble ways they are giving back to the community we call home. Here we honor Northern Virginians who are working with female convicts to make a new start at life; rebuilding computers for low-income students; bringing our area’s history to life; growing the art scene in the suburbs; sending care packages to soldiers overseas; and raising funds for those battling cancer. All of our Northern Virginians of the Year make this area a better place to live.
