The new school year is officially underway for nearly all of Northern Virginia. And for those driving by Fairfax County high schools, you may notice a lack of crossing guards this year.

Fairfax County Public Schools’ Board of Supervisors cut high school crossing guards as part of the 2027 fiscal budget.

So we want to hear from you: Do you think crossing guard positions should be reinstated at FCPS high schools?
