POLL: Will You Try the New Bike and Pedestrian Trail Along I-495?

The 2.5-mile trail stretches from Lewinsville Road to Live Oak Drive in McLean.

By Michele Kettner June 23, 2026 at 11:55 am

It’s not often that a new trail opens, especially one that isn’t surrounded by parkland. On Saturday, a new bicycle and pedestrian trail is set to open along I-495 in McLean.

The 2.5-mile trail is part of 495 NEXT, the Virginia Department of Transportation’s ongoing express lane expansion project. It runs parallel to I-495 and is situated behind new noise walls.

We want to know, do you plan on using this trail? Vote below, and check NoVA Daily on Wednesday for the final results.
