On Saturday, Aug. 10 and Sunday, Aug. 11, look for the yellow balloons in Alexandria, and you’ll be in the right place for a day full of shopping.

The city is set to host its 10th annual Summer Sidewalk Sale, with over 50 participating boutiques throughout Old Town and Dely Ray from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.

The event, in which the shops take their products outside on the sidewalk in front of their storefronts, will feature a wide array of activities on the King Street Mile, with lemonade stands, a snow cone machine, art demonstrations and interactive games, as well as arts and crafts projects for all ages.

Look out for the pop-up bluegrass and folk performances at the Alexandria Visitor Center from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, and the pop-up art studio by Kyo Gallery at 913 King Street throughout the weekend.

Shoppers can browse clothing, home goods and seasonal gift items at various locations, with certain stores offering discounted merchandise up to 80% off during the sale. Participating stores include Old Town Books, Bishop Boutique, Wear Ever Jewelry and more.

Before taking to the streets, shoppers can enter an Instagram Giveaway for an Aug. 10 stay at the Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa. Those interested in participating can find the giveaway post on Visit Alexandria’s Instagram on July 26. A random winner will be selected on July 29. // Visit Alexandria; Throughout Old Town and Del Ray
