Prince Edward, the youngest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip, will tour George Washington’s Mount Vernon on Thursday, October 1. The Duke of Edinburgh will visit the estate’s new Education Center, the Mansion, a Revolutionary War encampment, and the Washington Library, Alexandria Living reported.
He will also lay a wreath on Washington’s grave in honor of America’s 250th birthday.
Prince Edward last visited Mount Vernon in 2001, and is returning now as part of a five-day tour of the U.S. and Canada. His tour, centered on supporting “youth opportunity, education, the arts, and the enduring transatlantic relationship,” includes stops in Washington DC, Baltimore, New York City, and Toronto.
