Wolf Trap Nursery will close at the end of June, FFX Now reports. The long-running business has sold plants out of its Leesburg Pike storefront for 54 years.

Vienna-based Sekas Homes has plans to build 13 single-family homes on the property. Owner Bill Cupp also cited his age as a factor in the decision to close the nursery’s doors.

Cupp’s parents, Bill and Dorothy Cupp, founded Wolf Trap Nursery in 1972. It sells house plants, annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, seeds, bulbs, and Christmas trees, according to the business’s website. Gardeners can also shop for pots, fertilizer, pesticides, and repellants.

The nursery is known for its bonsai trees and associated supplies and workshops. A closing sale is currently underway.
