As we reach the mid-point of summer and get comfortable with the heat, a few local businesses are getting comfortable, too. Over the course of the past few months, four shops in Leesburg have opened their doors to eager fashionistas, selling everything from household decor to summer attire.
Below, find all the need-to-know info on the new stores.
Misguided Angels
Opened April 4
Following 20 years of experience in the retail industry, owner Kim Hutchings decided to start her own boutique. While she had two other shops in NoVA, Hutchings decided to close them both and focus on the new site in Historic Leesburg. Stocked with various up-and-coming women’s designers that are often only found online, including Young Fabulous & Broke, Chaser and Bailey 44, Misguided Angels is your one-stop-shop for everything from an elegant dress to a pair of comfortable jeans. // 14 S. King St., Leesburg
Brick and Mortar
Opened April 15
From the same company that owns retail shop Lou Lou, this unique boutique strives to avoid the norm and make shopping a whimsical experience. Whether you’re in need of personal stationery, signs for your home or accessories like sunglasses, Brick and Mortar has it all. Plus, shoppers are greeted by music on vinyl and the shop’s cheerful parakeets (named Brick and Mortar, of course). // 32 S. King St., Leesburg
The Lucky Knot
Opened mid-April
As of this past spring, the site on King Street became The Lucky Knot’s fourth location. The shop is home to familiar, vibrant brands, including Vineyard Vines, Lily Pulitzer and Gretchen Scott, great for both men and women in search of preppy, yet comfortable attire. // 9 N. King St., Leesburg
Sunflower Shack
Opened May 27
Purcellville-based store owner Peggy Arnone recently moved her antique shop, Sunflower Shack, down the street to a new location. As an avid collector of hidden treasures from the past, Arnone sells a variety of old and new items, including artwork, decorative dish wear, candles and so much more. // 36 S. King St., Leesburg
