6 hotels perfect for a National Cherry Blossom Festival staycation

Treat yourself to a staycation and take advantage of local hotels’ cherry blossom-themed packages this spring.

Don’t drive back and forth from your NoVA home to DC, Arlington or Alexandria during the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Instead, make it a staycation with these hotels offering special cherry blossom packages.

Hilton Hotels and Resorts

The official hotel partner of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, Hilton is offering its National Cherry Blossom Festival package at 46 Hilton properties in the area, including Canopy by Hilton Washington DC the Wharf, Conrad Washington DC and Hilton Washington DC National Mall. The package is available from March 20 through April 14, and includes a “Petal Pass” for each guest. The pass gives guests a traditional Japanese tea ceremony at the Washington Hilton; a wine and paint cherry blossom night at the Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/Bethesda; 20 percent off merchandise at the festival’s official headquarters at Union Station; 50 percent off the cherry blossom breakfast buffet at the Hilton Arlington; specialty Japanese whisky tastings at the Capital Hilton; and a National Cherry Blossom Festival kite at the Blossom Kite tent on March 20. // Multiple Hilton hotels and resorts in the DMV; Rates vary

Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa

Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa’s “Awesome Blossom” package is available from March 20 through April 15. Guests will enjoy two pre-loaded Metro cards, $25 daily dining credit for cocktails, dining or room service at Brabo Brasserie or Brabo Tasting Room, a map of the most popular spots in town and a cherry blossom puzzle. // Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa: 1600 King St., Alexandria; Rates begin at $241.53 per night

The Alexandrian

Take advantage of The Alexandrian’s Cherry on Top package, available from March 18 to April 28. Upon arrival, guests will receive two cherry blossom-themed cocktails and a gourmet picnic basket curated by Jackson 20, meant to enjoy at a nearby park on Alexandria’s Potomac River waterfront. The package also includes round-trip tickets on the Potomac Riverboat Co. water taxi to The Wharf, departing from Old Town Alexandria. // The Alexandrian: 480 King St., Alexandria; Rates begin at 219 per night

Georgetown Suites

Available at both Georgetown Suites buildings (The Courtyard Building and The Harbour Building), the Cherry Blossom Special comes with free parking for the length of the stay, and if guests stay a third night, the hotel package will include a $30 Uber gift card. Omni Shoreham Hotel

Enjoy the blooms with Omni Shoreham Hotel, offering deluxe room accommodations, welcome amenities, a cherry blossom-inspired gift and breakfast for each member of the family. The Watergate Hotel

From March 20 to April 15, The Watergate Hotel is offering two cherry blossom-inspired packages. The In Bloom package includes breakfast for two at Kingbird Restaurant, two cherry blossom cocktails at The Bar at Kingbird and overnight valet parking. The Floral Suite package features the same incentives, plus a stay in the exclusive, pink Rose Suite and a special arrival gift with a bottle of rosé and macarons.
