Freedom Before Emancipation: Family Day for Juneteeth

Capital Pride Parade
June 20, 3 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
One of the biggest Pride events of the year, this DC parade features colorful floats and music through the city. It starts at 14th and T streets NW and ends at Pennsylvania Avenue and Ninth streets NW. Plus, there’s a Family Fun Festival at Stead Park right before the parade for little ones to enjoy games, crafts, stories, and more. Multiple locations, Washington, DC, free
Broadway in the Park

Play All Day VA – Loudoun
June 21
Just one of the many Play All Day events in the region, these Loudoun events provide free programs for community members from sunrise to sunset. The Sterling Community Center is hosting a family-friendly day with moon bounces, water play, and summer treats. For families who love to dance, the Dulles South Recreation & Community Center will have a Zumba session. Little ones can get some of their energy out at “Jump Jam” at the Dulles South Recreation & Community Center, where there will be plenty of inflatables, music, and interactive games. At Claude Moore Park, there are plans for cooking, fishing, and archery classes. Franklin Park is also hosting events like “Play Like its 1776!” where guests can try their hand at games that Americans played at the time like hoop rolling and cup and ball. Annual Sully Antique Car Show
June 21, 10 a.m.
Take a trip down memory lane at the 51st Annual Sully Antique Car Show. Take a peek at hundreds of classic cars on display and see who wins awards throughout the day. Plus, there will be live music, food vendors, activities for kids, and a chance to explore Sully Historic Site. Father’s Day Fish-a-Rama
June 21, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Calling all fishermen! Great Country Farms is hosting a Father’s Day Fish-a-Rama contest with prizes given for the biggest fish caught between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. There will also be prizes for the most fish caught during power hour from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The day is bring-your-own-pole and gear, and no drag hooks are permitted. Guests can buy worms with their advance ticket purchase. The prize for the largest fish caught and power hour will be an annual Fan of the Farm Season Pass. Capital Pride Festival and Concert
June 21, festival noon–10 p.m., concert 1 p.m.–10 p.m.
The day after the Capital Pride parade, Capital Pride’s festival and concert will take place on Pennsylvania Avenue. Expect hundreds of exhibitors and artisans plus food and beverage gardens.
