The 12 Best Weekend Events in Northern Virginia and DC June 19 to 21

With Juneteenth, Father’s Day, the summer solstice, and Pride Month all happening this weekend, there are countless ways to celebrate throughout the region. From festivals and concerts to parades and car shows, here are the best ways to spend your jam-packed weekend in and around Northern Virginia from June 19 to 21.

Freedom Before Emancipation: Family Day for Juneteeth  

June 19–20, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.  

This Juneteenth event at George Washington’s Mount Vernon honors and celebrates enslaved people who sought freedom. See demonstrations, performances, tours, and live music. George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Mount Vernon, $16+ 

Mumford & Sons: Prizefighter Tour 

June 19, 7:30 p.m. 

This Grammy Award–winning trio is bringing their signature folk rock to Jiffy Lube Live. Listen to tracks from their newest album, Prizefighter, along with songs from fan-favorites Sigh No More, Babel, and Rushmere. Jiffy Lube Live, Bristow, $76+

Manassas Bee Festival 

June 20, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Learn about honeybees, native pollinators, and native plants at this annual event hosted by nonprofit The Friends of the Manassas Bee Festival. Expect food trucks, costumes, honey for sale, animals, crafts, live music, and more. Liberia House and Grounds, Manassas City, free

Truckin into Summer 

June 20, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. 

Kids can climb, explore, and get up close and personal with the cars, trucks, and vehicles that keep the community moving. This Touch-A-Truck event will include fire trucks, dump trucks, construction vehicles, and more. Dulles Town Center, Dulles, free 

National Wiener Dog Day 

June 20, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. 

Feature your four-legged hotdog pals at this tail-wagging event in celebration of National Wiener Dog Day. Guests can enjoy food and drink specials while pups come dressed to impress for a chance to be featured in a “most fashionable wiener” dog calendar. One Family Brewing, Lovettsville, free 

Summer Solstice Festival 

June 20, 11a.m.–5p.m. 

Make your way to Middleburg to spend the first official day of summer outdoors. The festival includes vendors, live music, a hat bar, and a permanent jewelry stand. Lost Barrel Brewing, Middleburg, free

Capital Pride Parade  

June 20, 3 p.m.–7:30 p.m.  

One of the biggest Pride events of the year, this DC parade features colorful floats and music through the city. It starts at 14th and T streets NW and ends at Pennsylvania Avenue and Ninth streets NW. Plus, there’s a Family Fun Festival at Stead Park right before the parade for little ones to enjoy games, crafts, stories, and more. Multiple locations, Washington, DC, free 

Broadway in the Park 

June 20, 8 p.m. 

Show tunes take center stage during this crowd-pleasing night of musical theater. Featuring Tituss Burgess and Heather Headley, alongside performers from Signature Theatre, this is bound to be a sing-along-worthy evening. Wolf Trap, Vienna, $49+

Play All Day VA – Loudoun 

June 21 

Just one of the many Play All Day events in the region, these Loudoun events provide free programs for community members from sunrise to sunset. The Sterling Community Center is hosting a family-friendly day with moon bounces, water play, and summer treats. For families who love to dance, the Dulles South Recreation & Community Center will have a Zumba session. Little ones can get some of their energy out at “Jump Jam” at the Dulles South Recreation & Community Center, where there will be plenty of inflatables, music, and interactive games. At Claude Moore Park, there are plans for cooking, fishing, and archery classes. Franklin Park is also hosting events like “Play Like its 1776!” where guests can try their hand at games that Americans played at the time like hoop rolling and cup and ball. Multiple locations, Loudoun County, free

Annual Sully Antique Car Show 

June 21, 10 a.m. 

Take a trip down memory lane at the 51st Annual Sully Antique Car Show. Take a peek at hundreds of classic cars on display and see who wins awards throughout the day. Plus, there will be live music, food vendors, activities for kids, and a chance to explore Sully Historic Site. Sully Historic Site, Chantilly, $15 for adults, $10 ages 15 and under, $12 ages 65 and older 

Father’s Day Fish-a-Rama 

June 21, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. 

Calling all fishermen! Great Country Farms is hosting a Father’s Day Fish-a-Rama contest with prizes given for the biggest fish caught between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. There will also be prizes for the most fish caught during power hour from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The day is bring-your-own-pole and gear, and no drag hooks are permitted. Guests can buy worms with their advance ticket purchase. The prize for the largest fish caught and power hour will be an annual Fan of the Farm Season Pass. Great Country Farms, Bluemont, advance tickets $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and kids; day-of admission $16, children 2 and under free

Capital Pride Festival and Concert  

June 21, festival noon–10 p.m., concert 1 p.m.–10 p.m.  

The day after the Capital Pride parade, Capital Pride’s festival and concert will take place on Pennsylvania Avenue. Expect hundreds of exhibitors and artisans plus food and beverage gardens. There’s live music on several stages, including a performance from country star Maren Morris. Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC, free
