Fall festivities are in full swing in Northern Virginia, and they make for some great fun. But not every pumpkin patch or farm stand has the land necessary for an essential fall activity for you and the kids: corn mazes. Here are six nearby farms and festivals where you can take a run through the fields for some good old-fashioned autumn fun.
Belvedere Plantation
Through November 7
There’s a great lineup of fall activities at this farm, including a corn maze. You can take it at your own pace or make it a challenge with your friends to see who can make it through the fastest. Can’t get enough of playing in corn? There’s also a corn box full of dried kernels where you can sit and play like a sandbox. Cox Farms
Through November 8
No fall season is complete in NoVA without a visit to the Cox Farms Fall Festival. Don’t overlook the Cornundrum corn maze, which is full of fun surprises like pirates, caves, and jungles. For a spookier experience, head there after hours for Fields of Fear and dive into the Cornightmare haunted trail. Great Country Farms
Check out the Family Flashlight Corn Maze event on September 19 and 26 for an after-hours exploration of the maze, followed by a marshmallow on the bonfire (just don’t forget your flashlight!). Harvest Gap Brewery

Wayside Farm Fun

Every year, this farm creates a fun, themed corn maze on its 10-acre field. This year the maze pays homage to America’s 250th birthday.
