Oktoberfest celebrations aren’t the only way to enjoy the fall season. The 14th annual Snallygaster Festival, the district’s largest beer festival, will be held Saturday, October 10 from noon to 6 p.m.
Beer lovers will be able to choose from more than 450 draft beers, gravity kegs, and bottle and can pours from 164 local, national, and international producers.
Along with unlimited beer, wine, and cocktail tastings, the festival will include local food trucks. Two stages will also offer live music performances throughout the day.
Of the 160-plus breweries and wineries in attendance, 19 of them are based in Virginia. They include NoVA’s own Aslin Beer Company, Commonwealth Brewing Company, Crooked Run Fermentation, Mieza Blendery, Ocelot Brewing Company, Port City Brewing Company, and Wheatland Spring Farm + Brewery.
VIP drink tickets have already sold out, but general admission tickets are still available. Kraken tickets are $75 and offer entry starting at 2 p.m., unlimited drink tastings, a commemorative tasting glass, and access to amenities.
Designated driver passes for both time slots are $30 for adults. Young adult tickets are $10 and children under 12 can attend for free. The festival will also include five non-alcoholic beverage tents with non-alcoholic beer, wine, and cocktails, plus a family-friendly area with face painting, pumpkin decorating, and more.
The event also serves as the largest annual fundraiser for Arcadiafood.org, a local nonprofit that works to create a more sustainable food system in the region. Pennsylvania Avenue NW, between Third and Seventh Streets
