Another electric car company is making its way to Northern Virginia. Lucid Motors will be opening a studio and service center at Tysons Corner Center, one of 20 expected to open in Northern America in 2021.
The California-based company will be moving into Tysons Corner as it prepares to start production on its Lucid Air Sedan. Once open, the Lucid Motors car studio will be joining electric car competitor Tesla in the shopping center. When the storefront opens, residents can expect to customize their car in the studio instead of picking it out from the lot.
In a recent press release, the company stated, “All Studios feature a California-inspired aesthetic where you can explore the Lucid Air’s advanced technology in a warm atmosphere of natural, sustainable materials. Lucid Studios are engaging spaces, designed to start conversations and provide education about the performance and efficiency benchmarks possible in an electric vehicle.”
If you are not in driving distance from the studio, online purchase options are also available. When Lucid Motors reveals its Sedan, it will also be launching a new website to help customize your car from home.
While the company will reveal the final design in September, Lucid Motors’ website does state the Lucid Air Sedan will have spacious seating, with an option for reclining rear seating, a battery that averages over 400 miles and assistive technology.
Those in the United States looking to purchase the Lucid Air can reserve a car for $1,000. Once closer to production, representatives will reach out to configure and customize the Air.
The American automotive company is set to reveal the final design, specifications and prices for the Lucid Air on Tuesday, Sept. 9, the 170th anniversary of California’s founding, at 7 p.m. EST.
