Alexandria Restaurant Week Returns With More Than 70 Participants

New restaurants help fill out the promotion that takes place from August 20-29.

By Alice Levitt August 3, 2021 at 10:50 am

From Old Town to Del Ray, there’s lots to love on the Alexandria restaurant scene. But even we weren’t prepared for 70 eateries from which to choose during this summer’s Alexandria Restaurant Week. The promotion returns this year for 10 days, spanning from August 20-29, covering two weekends.

With Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week taking place August 9-15, why should you also make reservations for Alexandria’s version? Besides the participating restaurants, there are some significant differences that help Alexandria Restaurant Week stand out. For one, there’s the price point: $49 for a dinner for two, or for solo diners, $25. More than 50 of the restaurants taking part offer solo meals for both dine-in and/or takeout.

What else is new this time around? Some of our Alexandria favorites, including Ada’s on the River and Kungfu Kitchen are offering menus for the first time. Sisters Thai and the Magnolia Dessert Bar in Old Town North’s EDENS development is the another new addition sure to bring diners in with their Thai entrees and over-the-top sweets.

Look for our picks for where to make your reservations soon.
