The cookie craze has taken a hit with the closure of three Chip City locations in Clarendon, Shirlington, and Tysons.
The most recent local addition, in Tysons, opened just over a year ago.
The New York–based cookie chain no longer lists any Virginia locations on its website. It previously had stores in Connecticut and Massachusetts as well, reports ArlNow.com, but now only lists stores in New York, New Jersey, and Texas.
Meanwhile, Crumbl Cookies closed its Vienna location, which was its first in Virginia, earlier this month.
The owners of MidnighTreats in Ballston, another area cookie shop, said it would honor Chip City gift cards through October 14.
