Where to Pick Peaches In and Around Northern Virginia

These farms offer orchards full of ripe peaches for the picking.

By Priya Konings July 6, 2026 at 10:47 am

It’s July, and that means its peach season. Peach picking is a great activity for the whole family; temperatures are usually a few degrees cooler out in the country, the views are always stunning, and it doesn’t get more ‘farm-to-table’ than this. Many crops have been affected by this year’s harsh and fluctuating weather, so be sure to check the farm’s website or call to make sure their orchards have juicy fruit ready for picking before heading out.

Hartland Orchard

Picking has begun at Hartland Orchard with a selection of ripe Garnet Beauty peaches. This lovely orchard also offers tractor rides for the kids and has an adjacent market with local produce. It sells honey from the farm’s hive and jars of its produce — even tomato sauce — packed at peak freshness so you can enjoy the flavors of summer year-round. If you have an immediate craving for sweets, however, you can also enjoy fresh donuts, candied apples, and other treats. 3064 Hartland Ln., Markham

Hollin Farms

Hollin Farms first opened its peach tree orchard to visitors picking their own fruit almost 20 years ago. Since then, the number of fruits grown on its sprawling lands has grown to include (among others) apples, blueberries, and cherries. The peach orchards are still among the most popular and fruit is plentiful, so whether you’re looking to bite into them straight away or use them for a delicious cobbler later, you’ve come to the right place. Visitors can find Garnet Beauty peaches, white peaches, and a selection of plums, berries, vegetables, and flowers. 1524 Snowden Rd., Delaplane

Stribling Orchard

Come for the peaches, stay for the views. This sixth-generation family farm has picnic tables set up on their property that give you the best view of the Blue Ridge Mountain landscape. If you visit on the weekend, the Harvest House will have fresh pies and pastries, so you don’t even need to bring your own snacks (although you’re welcome to bring along your own picnic if you choose). Check the website for updates on when pick-your-own peaches become available. 11587 Poverty Hollow Ln., Markham

Bonus: Peach Festival

Great Country Farms

The orchards will be closed for peach picking this year, but peaches will be available for purchase at the Farm Market. Plus, Great Country Farms will host its annual Peach Fuzztival in mid-July. The event includes activities like a pie-eating contest and water games, as well as food and drinks such as peach slushies and peach ice cream. Visit the website to buy tickets to the peach-themed festival. 34345 Snickersville Tpk., Bluemont
