If your ideal weekend includes a drink in hand and something fun on the calendar, you’re in luck. Wineries and breweries across Northern Virginia are turning up the energy with everything from festivals and dancing to board games and murder mysteries. Here are nine upcoming events happening at area wineries and breweries this spring.

Line Dancing Night
April 16, 6–9 p.m.
Get your boots clacking at this fun-filled dancing event. Enjoy a sunset view as you learn how to line dance to country, hip hop, and pop songs. This venue is 21 and up only. Effingham Manor and Winery, Nokesville, free
Blind Ambition Wine Tasting
April 18, 1–2:30 p.m.
Challenge your taste buds at this guided blind tasting experience. Guests will try to correctly distinguish each wine, and prizes will be given to those with the most accurate guesses. Other trivia and prizes will be given out during the event. Boxwood Estate Winery, Middleburg, $55

International Pickle & Food Festival
April 18–19
Head to Crooked Run Fermentation for a celebration of foods from around the world and, of course, pickles. The event will have at least 12 pickle vendors, plus chances to taste international cuisines from a range of food trucks. Crooked Run Fermentation, Sterling, $5+
Bishop 3K & 6K Run
April 19, 8:30–10:30 a.m.
Lace up your sneakers and head over to Barrel Oak Winery for this vineyard race. Participants can run or walk a 3K or a 6K, with a virtual race option also available. All proceeds go toward the Semper Fi & America’s Fund. Runners will receive a glass of wine, medal, event shirt, and chip timing. Leashed pets are welcome. Barrel Oak Winery, Delaplane, $39+
BBQ Lunch at the Farmstore
April 19, noon–2 p.m.
Treat yourself to this flavorful feast of wine, pork, brisket, chicken, and more. Join The District Pit and Pearmund Cellars and learn what wines pair well with different meats and why. Pearmund Cellars, Broad Run, $55

Patriots’ Day 2026
April 19, noon–5 p.m.
Start your America250 celebration with this patriotic tasting. Try the Independence white wine by The Winery at Bull Run and the 250 red wine by Paradise Springs. Guests can also view an expanded museum in the Barrel Room, which houses over 200,000 Civil War artifacts. A commemorative toast to George Washington and live music by Wicked Olde and The American Legion will also be available. Tickets include a glass of one of the America250 wines. LoCo Wine Festival
April 25–26, noon–5 p.m.
Spend the afternoon tasting wines from more than 10 local wineries at this two-day festival. Visitors can enjoy live music, food trucks, artisan vendors, and more, with some proceeds going towards The Arc of Loudoun. Tickets include festival entry, complimentary wine tastings, souvenir glass, and a wine tasting passport. Guests must be 21 or older. Old Farm Winery, Aldie, $45
Mahjong in Middleburg
April 26, 2–4 p.m.

Frülingsfest
May 16, noon–10 p.m.
