Catch a Dazzling Glow-in-the-Dark Show in McLean

“Dino-Light” will captivate the audience with a combination of puppetry, dance, and electroluminescent effects.

McLean’s Alden Theater is planning a truly glowing performance this month. Lightwire Theater will present Dino-Light on Friday, October 24. The group combines puppetry, dance, and electroluminescent technology to create extravagant light-up creations.

Lit up amid a dark room, glowing costumes and props will dance across the stage, bringing stories to life in a way that feels almost like magic. Lightwire was a semi-finalist on America’s Got Talent and a winner of Fake Off.

Dino-Light is a family-friendly show about a curious dinosaur who is brought to life by a scientist. The dinosaur wanders off, encountering “a world of magical, glowing creatures that light up the darkness — sparking lessons about friendship, discovery and finding your way home.”

“The last time Lightwire was here, we could hear the audience cheering and laughing all the way out in the lobby,” said Danielle Van Hook, director of youth theatre programs at the Alden Theatre. “These artists are experts at taking what feels like a simple story and filling every moment with so much emotion, movement and fun. And they do it all without dialogue or (traditional) sets. Dino-Light truly is a perfect way for the whole family to spend a Friday night!”

Tickets are $25 for adults and children, $20 for seniors, and $15 for residents in the McLean Community Center tax district (District 1-A Dranesville).
