You still have time to stroll through a pop-up sculpture garden at the American Horticultural Society‘s River Farm in Alexandria. The installation will remain on display through the end of November.
Alexandria’s Nepenthe Gallery curated the sculpture garden for AHA’s annual gala held last month. It was such a popular feature that AHS and Nepenthe agreed to extend its stay.
“We were thrilled to partner with Nepenthe Gallery to host a pop-up sculpture garden at this year’s AHS Gala,” said AHS President and CEO, Suzanne Laporte. “Guests were charmed by the whimsical artworks they provided, which brought an added layer of wonder and enchantment to an already joyful evening.”

The pop-up display includes 14 sculptures that are both fanciful and serious works of art. Featured artists include Michael Alfano, Kevin Carman, Dorothy Gillespie, Staci Katsias, Vadim Kharchenko, and villagers from India’s Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.
“The sculpture garden at this year’s AHS Gala offered a wonderful complement to the event’s theme, SurpriseDelight-Joy,” said AHS Board Chair Scott C. Plein.
The exhibit is free and open to the public; donations support the stewardship of River Farm. It’s open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
