Country music and books will collide this Saturday at singer-songwriter Tyler Childers’ Jiffy Lube Live concert.

As part of Childers’ Hickman Hollar Reading Club, a collaboration with reading app Libby, pop-up libraries will appear at stops along his tour. Fans can sign up for local library cards, learn about their local library’s resources, and enter to win a book signed by Childers.

Childers plays Jiffy Lube in Bristow tomorrow at 7 p.m., with openers Medium Build and SOMA. Tickets start at $122. The library pop-up can be found Saturday, September 27, at the Reverb Action Village station at the concert venue.

Alongside the libraries, the Hickman Hollar Reading Club will feature a “curated selection” of the musician’s favorite books monthly. The first book is Jack Kerouac’s On the Road, which served as inspiration for Childers’ On the Road tour.

Other titles include Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurty, Sometimes a Great Notion by Ken Kesey, and River of Earth by James Still.

Readers can find the books in the collection by signing up for Libby through their local library.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Tyler to champion literacy and increase accessibility of these life changing stories through libraries across the country,” said Jen Leitman, chief marketing officer of OverDrive, the creator of Libby, in a news release.

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month. Want to get a card? Several counties in the DMV are part of a reciprocal jurisdiction program. If you live or work in an eligible county, you can get a card at any participating library system.
