Haunted Hollow VA

The Farm at Maple Tree Lane has its own haunted history. The property, which was once abandoned, had plenty of mysterious accidents before an unidentified cemetery near one of the barns. Now, guests can explore the abandoned barns and other frights along the haunted trail. Tickets go on sale September 19. 8275 Maple Tree Ln., Warrenton
Fields of Fear
September 26 to November 8, 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
A trip to Cox Farms’ Fields of Fear is a must during spooky season. The haunted grounds have three haunts — Dark Side Hayride, The Forest: Back 40, and Cornightmare — and there’s also dancing karaoke, and fire-filled performances at The Firegrounds. MadHaunter’s Madhouse
September 27 to November 1, times vary
Are you ready to be entertained? Prepare to witness the Wickedest Show on Earth as you enter the haunted trail. The nearly 45-minute experience brings you through four different sections, with plenty of extra scenes and stages along the way. Add on the Precursor to experience Maddoc’s home before taking on the trail. 37658 Legard Farm Rd., Purcellville, $35-$80
Buckland Haunted Farm
October 3 to November 1, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Beware of the haunted corn maze at Buckland Farm Market. Keep hidden from bloodthirsty clowns, and haunted dolls as you try to navigate the half-mile trail. The attraction also includes an inflatable maze with scares, and a scare-free corn maze. 4484 Lee Hwy., Warrenton, $25

Milltown Haunt
October 3 to November 2, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The Loudoun County haunt is back for its second season. After being ranked one of the top haunted attractions in the nation by Scare Factor, you expect even more haunts with two new attractions — Trickster’s Hollow and The Void — joining Thorne House and Barn of Fears. Milltown Haunt will also be hosting a handful of specialty nights, including a family-friendly Kids Night and Extreme Night for guests 21 and older. 13936 Milltown Rd., Lovettsville, $40-$55

Apokalypse: Kingdom of Shadows
October 10 to November 1, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Monsters hide behind every corner at Workhouse Arts’ annual haunt. This year’s theme, Apokalypse: Kingdom of Shadows, is set to amaze thrill seekers. With new four interactive scares — The Horsemen, Blood and Rust, The Gauntlet, and Blackout: See No Evil — guests will have to find their way through abandoned buildings, into the dark woods, and hopefully back to safety. Halls of Hysteria

Good luck trying to keep your sanity as you make your way through the Halls of Hysteria. This indoor haunt is a maze full of abandoned rooms, ghostly echoes, and creatures hiding in the dark. Fredericksburg Convention Center: 2371 Carl D. Silver Pkwy., Fredericksburg, $25
Factory of Fear, The Horror Hotel
October 17 to 25, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
This scary experience takes thrill seekers back in time to when the ARTfactory building was a hotel. Make your way down all four levels to find haunts lurking behind every door. ARTfactory: 9419 Battle St., Manassas, $25
Dead Whispers
October 23 to November 1, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
During the last week of October, the Fredericksburg Fairgrounds turn into the Scaregrounds. In addition to The Haunting of the Holloway Twins, the attraction is also adding the “Harvest of Shadows” haunted hayride to the scare lineup. Clifton Haunted Trail
October 25, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
For one night only, you can experience this scary trek in Clifton. Beloved by the community, this trail has been held off and on for the last 25 years. Test your bravery as you make your way through jump scares, monsters, and other hideous props. Plan to get your tickets early as the attraction usually sells out. Tickets go on sale on Friday, October 3. Clifton Town 8-Acre Park, Clifton, $20 for general admission, $5 for parking (cash only)
