This weekend, embrace the summer heat with music, food, and dancing. These 12 fun events will keep you entertained all weekend long.   

Cocktails by Candlelight 

July 25, 6–9 p.m. 

Sip on cocktails and sample historic foods while enjoying the serenity of Mason Neck by candlelight. This event offers the perfect opportunity to relax with friends or loved ones while dining in the heart of historic property. George Mason’s Gunston Hall: 10709 Gunston Rd., Lorton, starting at $55 

Horacio Calvo Trio Jazz  

July 25, 6–9 p.m.  

Visit the Horacio Calvo Trio Jazz band at Bourbon Boulevard for a Friday night special. Horacio Calvo is an electric bassist, composer, and band leader, who has performed across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Bourbon Boulevard: 4301 Chantilly Shopping Center, Chantilly, free

Pixies

July 25 & 26, 8 p.m.

Carmina Burana 

July 25, 8 p.m. 

Based on 24 poems from the medieval collection, Carmina Burana is a cantata composed in 1935 and 1936 by Carl Orff. The National Symphony and two choruses come together at Wolf Trap for a night to enjoy the joys and sorrows of love. Wolf Trap Opera: 1551 Trap Rd., Vienna, starting at $49.50 

Beats, Bites, and Brews  

July 26, 11–6 p.m. 

This laid-back summer event features food vendors and a beer garden, plus live music and local arts and crafts vendors. 847 Pickett St., Alexandria, free   

MetroFest 

July 26, 12–3 p.m.  

Stop by and enjoy a family-friendly day of discovery where you can climb aboard real Metro vehicles and get an inside scoop on its programs and services. Latino Summerfest  

July 26, 2 p.m.–2 a.m.  

Dance the night away at Latino Summerfest at Shipgarten for a day full of Latin music, fun, and culture. The event this weekend brings together the best Colombian and South American music and blending it with dancing and cultural festivities. Shipgarten: 7581 Colshire Dr., Tysons, free 

Loudoun County Fair  

Through July 26 

Get ready for carnival rides, rodeos, magic shows, live music, and more county fair fun. The Loudoun County Fair is offering two new spin rides this year: Zeus and Flash Dance, both made for adrenaline junkies. 17558 Dry Mill Rd., Leesburg, starting at $16.50 for adults, $5.75 for kids

International Food and Culture Festival 

July 27, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. 
 
Immerse yourself and enjoy live music, dance performances, interactive workshops and foods from a variety of different cultures. Judy Collins

July 27, 7:30 p.m. 

Head to the Birchmere to see Judy Collins, an award-winning singer and songwriter, as she performs her 55th album, Spellbound. The 13-song album, released in 2022, features modern folk songs and a bonus track of her evergreen song “The Blizzard.” The Birchmere: 3701 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria, starting at $74.90 

Mubadala Citi DC Open 

Through July 27   

Watch the professional tennis tournament this week featuring both men’s (ATP) and women’s (WTA) tournaments, making it one of the few combined ATP 500 and WTA 500 events worldwide. The men’s headliners include Taylor Fritz, Lorenzo Musetti, and Holger Rune. The women’s headliners include Jessica Pegula, Emma Navarro, and Elena Rybakina. Sailing: Yacht Rock  

Through August 10 

This new jukebox musical just kicked off at Signature Theatre this week. Settle in to be serenaded with the melodies and lyrics of yacht rock.
