Del Ray Artisans hosting ‘Take Away Art’ exhibit through the end of July

Support local artists and find new decor for your home at this exhibit benefiting the gallery and its nonprofit efforts.

By Holly Gambrell June 30, 2020 at 2:22 pm

Summertime serves as a source of inspiration for both artists creating new pieces and homeowners looking to spruce up their walls with fresh decor. There’s just something about the warmth of the sunshine that sparks creativity.

This summer, now through Friday, July 31, art lovers and those on the hunt for new pieces to add to their homes can head to Del Ray Artisans Gallery in Alexandria for the new Take Away Art exhibit.

All artwork purchased from the exhibit may go home with patrons immediately, what the exhibit is calling “creative takeout.” The exhibit features work by Del Ray Artisans members, as well as some additional fundraising artworks to benefit the nonprofit directly, plus a special section from the Spring Arts Market artists from earlier this year.

Interested patrons can head to the Colasanto Center in Alexandria to find the exhibit, and new gallery hours are now Thursdays and Fridays, noon to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. All guests are encouraged to wear a mask in the gallery space and maintain 6 feet apart from other visitors and staff members.
