There are plenty of events throughout NoVA to celebrate love this Valentine’s Day, or rebel against the candy hearts and enjoy the single life with some others.

Sixth Annual Sweetheart Dance
Feb. 9, 7-9:30 p.m.
Dance the night away with your sweetheart to the music of the Silver Tones; you can even dedicate a song to your special someone. // Marshall Community Center: 4133A Rectortown Road, Marshall; $10

National Chamber Ensemble–The Romantics
Feb. 9, 7:30 p.m.
Get in the Valentine’s Day mood as the National Chamber Ensemble performs symphonies, operas and other songs from the Romantic period of art and literature. // Gunston Arts Center—Theatre One: 2700 S. Lang St., Arlington; $18-$36

Salamander Resort & Spa
Feb. 13-16

Run 4 Love 5K & 10K
Feb. 14-28
Take part in a virtual 5K and 10K throughout the month of February with your significant other. You’ll receive two medals, a key and heart that can fit together. // Arlington & Alexandria; $25

Eighth Annual HIPS Valentine’s Zumba Party
Feb. 9, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Love the Run You’re With 5K

Anti-Valentine’s Day Brunch
Feb. 16, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
