Salamander Middleburg is offering a new opportunity to see the Virginia countryside from above. Salamander Adventures are designed for individuals eager to try something new and see Middleburg in a more immersive way.
Ziplining tours, part of Salamander Adventures, include a Tree Top Zip Tour, which invites guests to glide above the trees across 20 acres. Children ages 4 to 7 can try their hand at ziplining with a half-hour tour. An Adventure Trifecta combines ziplining, archery, and an Intro to Survival excursion.
Salamander’s Nighttime Ziplining
Perhaps the most “bewitching” ziplining option is Salamander’s Soar Under the Stars: Full Moon Zip Tour. Once a month during the full moon, people age 9 and older can take a night ride with trained guides over the treetops.
“There’s something inherently special about experiencing the Virginia countryside after dark,” says Katie Nelson, Salamander Middleburg’s marketing manager. “The moonlight tours offer a completely different perspective on the landscapes, the sounds, the stars, and the feeling of being surrounded by nature when everything is quiet.”
Nelson adds that the experience allows participants to see a familiar place in an entirely new way. “It feels adventurous and a little unexpected, while still being incredibly peaceful,” Nelson says.
Salamander says it has received positive feedback on their moonlit tours. Guests often comment on how they enjoy the combination of adventure and tranquility.
“The glow sticks [we give out] add a fun visual element and make the experience feel even more distinctive once the sun goes down,” Nelson says. “We’ve also heard that the darkness can make the tour feel a little less intimidating for guests who may be nervous about heights.”
Tickets for the Soar Under the Stars: Full Moon Night Zip Tour” are $159 per person. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance, and scheduling preference is given to resort guests first. A 25% service charge is also added to all Salamander Adventure activities.
