Now that the much-hyped iHeartRadio Music Awards have finally aired, you may be in the mood to see some live music. You don’t have to go all the way to Los Angeles for a concert, though. Check out these shows happening in NoVA this week.
Monday: Chain Reaction: From Russia with Love Benefit for DC Family and Youth Initiative at IOTA Club
If you want to have a fun time and help out a good cause, head to IOTA Club tonight at 6 p.m. for DCFYI’s benefit. The evening will feature live art being painted by Christine Walters while an original opera is performed by The Nick Miller Project.
Tickets available at the door, $10 minimum donation required.
Tuesday: Saving Abel at Empire
Fans of guitar-filled Southern rock won’t want to miss this show at Springfield’s Empire (formerly Jaxx). The show also includes performances by The Madeleine Haze, local band The Angel’s Vice, Absinthe and Souls of the Afterlife.

Wednesday: The Winery Dogs at the Birchmere
If you’re a fan of more traditional rock music, check out The Winery Dogs’ show at the Birchmere. This supergroup is composed of Poison’s Richie Kotzen, David Lee Roth’s bassist Billy Sheehan and Dream Theater co-founder Mike Portnoy—pretty serious star power for such an intimate venue.

Thursday: Tonic’s Emerson Hart at Jammin’ Java
You may not be familiar with the name Emerson Hart, but if you’ve listened to the radio in the past five years, chances are you’ve heard his voice on the extremely popular song “If You Could Only See”. Hart leaves behind the rest of Tonic for this tour, which marks the release of his first solo album in six years and stops at Vienna’s Jammin’ Java Thursday night.

Friday: Sonu Nigam’s Klose to My Soul tour at the Patriot Center
If you’re into world music, head to GMU’s Patriot Center Friday night for Sonu Nigam’s “Klose to My Soul” tour. The Indian pop star is well-known for his roles in Bollywood movies and recently toured with David Guetta, so be prepared for a mix of traditional music and more Western-influenced dance songs.
