A menswear company analyzed Google searches over a year to figure out what’s popular in men’s clothing and determined that “men’s shorts” was the most popular in the U.S. and in Virginia.
After “men’s shorts,” boohoMAN found “men’s bracelets,” and “men’s earrings” to be the most popular in Virginia.
The popularity of the search term “men’s shorts” in Virginia was consistent with the trend across the country. “Men’s shorts” scored the most Google searches for menswear in the U.S. with a whopping 177,442 average monthly search rate, according to the study.
“Men’s bracelet” came in the No. 2 spot for Virginians, and that was consistent with national results. The term scored an average of 150,893 monthly searches across the country. Unsurprisingly, searches for “men’s bracelets” spiked by 122 percent during Paris Fashion Week 2023.
“Men’s earrings” were a slightly more unexpected result. Virginians are more interested than the typical American, with an average of 3,458 monthly searches in Virginia alone. Virginia was among the states looking up the term the most, right behind Ohio and North Carolina. For the U.S., “men’s earrings” turned out to be the fourth most popular menswear search with an average of 139,767 searches per month.
These three categories in Virginia beat out the 17 other search terms that were analyzed, including “men’s T-shirt,” “men’s sunglasses,” and “men’s sandals.” The state most interested in men’s fashion overall was New York, with an average of 559 related monthly searches per 100,000 residents.
