Several Fairfax County playgrounds will be undergoing renovations this fall. The changes will update the areas as well as add accessible play spaces. The Fairfax County Park Authority announced construction on seven playgrounds to begin as early as September. Some projects will continue into 2027.
Work is planned at Borge Street Neighborhood Park, Bren Mar Park, Burke Lake Park (Ice Cream Parlor and Shelter A), Cub Run Stream Valley Park, Loisdale Park, and Lincolnia Park. The playgrounds will be closed while work is underway.
Five of the projects — Borge Street Neighborhood Park, Bren Mar Park, Burke Lake Park’s Shelter A, Cub Run Stream Valley Park and Lincolnia Park — are funded in whole or in part by voter-approved bond dollars.
Construction schedules are subject to change based on weather, site conditions, and other factors. Families can use the Park Authority’s Amenity Locator to find playgrounds and other places to play throughout the county.
