Legal age to buy tobacco may be raised to 21; Tolls no longer part of plan for Fairfax County Parkway

The Virginia General Assembly passed a bill this week to raise the legal age to buy tobacco and vaping products from 18 to 21. The proposed law passed the House on Monday, with a 66-30 vote, and passed the Senate on Jan. 29, with a 32-8 vote. The bill now goes to Gov. Ralph Northam. (The Washington Post)

Tolls for the Fairfax County Parkway are no longer being considered, and long-planned High Occupancy Vehicle Lanes may not be part of the plan for much longer. On Tuesday, Fairfax County Department of Transportation Planner Thomas Burke presented other options based on public comments heard in the fall. (WTOP)

According to Experian, a consumer credit reporting agency, young women in Arlington boast the highest average credit score in the country. Single women from ages 24-32 in the area averaged a FICO score of 735 during the third quarter of 2018. (ArlNow)
