We’ve scoured the region to compile a list of the hottest new restaurants opening soon in a town near you. Here are 10 newcomers we’re excited for in 2025.

Alexandria

HomeGrown: A Daytime Eatery

Get your cage-free scrambled egg fix and more at HomeGrown, coming in April to Old Town Alexandria in the former BRABO Brasserie adjacent to the Archer Hotel. HomeGrown is a daytime eatery serving locally sourced dishes for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. 1600 King St., Alexandria

Cooper Mill

Cooper Mill is currently having a soft opening and serving diners in its old warehouse space in Old Town Alexandria. The tavern offers bar bites, pizzas, salads, and sandwiches in a gloriously historic setting. The owners hope to begin breakfast service and have its market up and running in the next few weeks. Currently, Cooper Mill is open daily at 11 a.m. and is booking private events on its second floor. 10 Duke St., Alexandria

Ruthie’s All-Day

Chef Matt Hill is expanding his popular restaurant to Fairfax Corner. Ruthie’s All-Day has been listed in Northern Virginia Magazine’s Top 50 Best Restaurants since 2021, and the new outpost for the all-day diner will be in the Fairfax Corner shopping center, across from REI. Expected in the fall, the menu will be similar to that of its sister restaurant, featuring wood-fired, smoked meats, a wood-grilled hearth, and outdoor patio. Fairfax Corner

Paeonian Springs

Waverly Springs

Tarver King, former head chef at The Restaurant at Patowmack Farms, is aiming to open a new restaurant and eight-room boutique inn this fall. Located just outside Leesburg in Paeonian Springs, the 20-seat dining room, set in a 300-year-old farmhouse, will offer seasonal fare from its 17-acre farm.  16001 Old Waterford Rd., Paeonian Springs

Reston

SEVEN and SYN Rooftop Bar and Lounge

SEVEN, a lobby-level restaurant, as well as rooftop bar SYN are both projected to open this month at the AC Hotel & Residence Inn by Marriott Reston at Reston Row. Under the direction of executive chef Alexis Hernandez, SEVEN will offer an eclectic menu focused on European culinary traditions with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and innovative cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And who doesn’t like sipping a cocktail atop a roof with a scenic, panoramic view? SYN, a stylish, all-season rooftop lounge and bar will offer shareable plates with artfully designed libations. 1975 Opportunity Way, Reston
