We would like to extend our congratulations to our 2019 Battle of the Brews winner 6 Bears & A Goat Brewing Company.

The brewery took the top spot against 31 other breweries throughout Northern Virginia (see the bracket here). Never been to 6 Bears & A Goat before or ready to make your regular, weekly stop? Consider grabbing a pint and celebrating the Battle of the Brews win at these upcoming events at the brewery.

Freedom Fest
July 20, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
For the second year in a row, the brewery will be toasting to local craft beer, live music and patriotism. There will be vendors selling items from cigars to essential oils, and live music from Madie Paige, Karen Jonas, Scott McMillen and more. Plus, don’t miss the dance party with DJ Cathy and the corn hole tournament. // $10, children 12 and under are free

Coast Guard Birthday
Aug. 4, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
In honor of the Coast Guard’s 229th birthday, the brewery is planning a birthday bash fit with live music, fresh pours and a cake cutting. Look out for a playing of the service anthem and enjoy some food. Might we suggest the knot-chos or the bacon-wrapped buoys to keep with the theme of the party? // More details to come

Oktoberfest
Sept. 14, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
It’s one of the brewery’s favorite holidays of the year, and it’s offering free admission for everyone to enjoy German beer, live music and a variety of games and activities to choose from. The festival will be held outdoors and attendees are encouraged to get in the spirit with their attire, if they so choose. // free

Running of the Goats
Oct. 5, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
It’s the Navy’s 244th birthday and the brewery is celebrating in a way you surely won’t want to miss. Think running of the bulls, except with five goats instead. Each goat will represent one of the branches of the armed forces and herded by the sheep dog, affectionately named “Bear,” across the 4-acre property. Live music, beer and other entertainment will also be available. // free
