Chantilly’s Farm Truck Pizza & Greens Closes to Become Farmside Kitchen

Get ready for a new fast-casual spot for greens and grain bowls.

Farm Truck Pizza & Greens in Chantilly closed this weekend to make room for a new “Americana-style” fast-casual eatery called Farmside Kitchen that will open in its place. The new spot will open in early 2025 at 14385 Newbrook Dr., Ste. 500, in the Field at Commonwealth plaza, the shopping center anchored by Wegmans on Westfields Boulevard.

The new restaurant will have a focus on “farm-fresh foods with a thoughtful and sustainable approach to the health of the planet,” according to a news release. The menu focuses on greens and grain bowls, which customers can fully customize with a build-your-own approach to meet their dietary needs.

“We’re bringing Farmside Kitchen to Chantilly because we see a real appetite here for fresh, flavorful food that doesn’t compromise on health or taste,” said Meg Schiffman, CEO of Farmside Kitchen and a Virginia resident. “As a small business with strong local ties, we’re excited to introduce our Americana-inspired grain bowls and salads, scratch-made with ingredients sourced from nearby farms and partners.”

Customers can either build their own bowls or choose from a selection of pre-set menu options. One example is The Pitchfork, which features chili lime tofu, cucumbers, pumpkin seeds, lentils, and more.

This is the first Virginia location of Farmside Kitchen, which first launched in Durham, North Carolina, at Churchill Commons. Another location is coming to Cary, North Carolina.

“Chantilly’s vibrant food scene and strong business community make it the perfect next step for Farmside Kitchen’s growth,” Schiffman said. “Our philosophy is to be good to the planet, good to the community and good to your taste buds. We can’t wait to introduce what we’ve been cooking up to the Chantilly community!”
