This weekend may start off with Friday the 13th, but with this lineup of fun things to do near Northern Virginia, luck is sure to be on your side. There are fall festivals where you can shop and eat to your heart’s content, great concerts that will have you dancing the weekend away, and art and literature events to ensure there’s not a dull moment. Andy Summers of The Police

2023 Middleburg Community Center Free Concert Series
Friday, October 13, 6–8 p.m.
Don’t miss the final installment of Middleburg’s 2023 free concert series. Bryan Fox & Friends will perform, and guests are invited to bring chairs or picnic blankets to relax and enjoy the show. Lucketts Fall Market

It’s time for the Old Lucketts Store’s popular annual fall market. The event showcases over 200 vendors selling furniture and design pieces that are antique, vintage, or repurposed for an overall “vintage hip” theme. Curtis Stigers
October 13, 8 p.m.
This soul singer, songwriter, saxophonist, and guitarist shows off his versatility in Vienna. Stigers recorded 14 albums, including nine award-winning jazz albums, and wrote the Emmy-nominated theme song for the series Sons of Anarchy. Fall Capital Art and Craft Festival

Pick up holiday gifts at this three-day artisan craft fair. The event features more than 250 artists and their handmade items that range from jewelry to ceramics to alpaca fur products. There will also be vendors selling toffee, popcorn, and baked goods. Gothic Ghosts at Rising Sun Tavern

Prepare for a frightful evening at Fredericksburg’s Rising Sun Tavern, which was built in 1760 by George Washington’s youngest brother, Charles. Haunted Hallows Ghost Tour
October 13–14, 7 p.m.
There will be ghosts and ghouls galore in downtown Manassas. A ghost host will bring you up close to the spirits that haunt this historic district. City of Fairfax Fall Festival
