Time is not of the essence at Leesburg’s Woodhouse Day Spa: the staff want you to come as early as you’d like and stay as long as you please. Upon entrance, guests are given a fleece robe and a warm, weighted neck wrap to soothe the shoulder muscles and reduce stress. Guests can enjoy these amenities in the spa’s luxurious “quiet room,” a cozy space with tufted chairs, a crackling fire, hot teas and detoxifying cucumber water. The space is dedicated to relaxation before and after treatments, which include more than 10 facials, a Signature Four-Handed Massage (two massage therapists work in perfect synchronization) and the 5.5 hour Woodhouse Experience: a spa day complete with a Swedish massage, facial, mani/pedi, bath cure and catered lunch ($515).

Unlike most med spas in the area, Woodhouse Day Spa was designed to feel homey and calming, not stark and sterile. The Leesburg facility, which will celebrate its first anniversary in March 2018, is dimly lit with wood floors and an earthy scent created specifically for Woodhouse Spas to trigger the parasympathetic nervous system—the body’s network responsible for rest and relaxation. On the Woodhouse menu, you can find everything from purely relaxative services like a seaweed body wrap to high-tech treatments like the Pure HydraFacial ($215 and an Oprah Winfrey favorite). In this treatment, a certified aesthetician uses dermabrasion technology to pull oil from the pores, hydrate the skin and gently exfoliate to remove dead skin cells, revealing a layer of brighter, younger looking skin.

“It’s one of my favorite treatments,” said owner Don Weeks of the HydraFacial. “It’s often called the ‘red carpet facial’ because celebrities will have it done hours before a big event. It gives your skin the most amazing clean feeling and glow.” Another celebrity treatment offered by Woodhouse? The Vichy Shower ($135 with a mud wrap), where guests lay face-down on a spa table and are showered with alternating hot and cold water from the spa’s rainbar to boost circulation and firm the skin.

Offering the best in basics and red carpet treatments alike, health, wellness and beauty are intricately linked at Woodhouse Day Spa, where no comfort or luxury is spared.
