Kids Ride Free on Colorful, Crayola-Themed Amtrak Trains

Plus, kids get free entrance to the Crayola Experience with any Amtrak ticket.

Amtrak and Crayola are teaming up to offer a special automotive experience for kids. Through August 31, kids can ride for free on the Amtrak Auto Train, which runs from Lorton to Sanford, Florida. Sanford is about a 30-minute drive from Orlando. (The Auto Train has options to transport your car, too.)

The free tickets are available for kids aged 2 to 12 with coach seats or first-class private rooms. Use code C522 when purchasing the ticket online or through the Amtrak app. A three-day advance purchase is required.

And the trains themselves are decked out in Crayola-themed decorations. One train’s exterior is Crayola Violet Blue, and it features a collection of eight retired colors that Crayola brought back for a limited time. The other is the color Dandelion, which is one of the “unretired” colors.

And children also can get free access to the Crayola Experience with their Amtrak ticket. The crayon-themed family attraction offers crafts, photo opportunities, and other activities for kids. There are locations in Easton, Pennsylvania; in the Mall of America in Minnesota; in Plano, Texas; and in Orlando, Florida.

For free entry to any Crayola Experience through September 30, travelers must show proof of a child’s ticket.

“Both Amtrak and Crayola are iconic brands, which together can unlock unique, memorable experiences for children and adults alike,” said Jessica Davidson, Amtrak vice president of digital and brand marketing. “Between special savings and imaginative locomotive designs, we are excited to foster extraordinary journeys and inspire creativity across America.”
