This summer, dinosaurs will once again roam around Northern Virginia. Luminocity’s Dino Safari, an immersive dinosaur light festival, is set to open at Potomac Mills in July.
From July 4 to August 4, the shopping center will be taken over by dinosaur creations of all shapes and sizes. The festival runs every day from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., rain or shine, with the light features turning on at 7 p.m.
Future paleontologists and those obsessed with dinosaurs, both old and young, can get their dino fix at this festival. The immersive outdoor event includes over 50 lifelike dinosaur animatronics, with some reaching as tall as 46 feet.
A new theme will be introduced in the lighted sculptures section for 2024: Volcanic and Ice Age Illuminations. These lantern displays will feature thousands of lights and prehistoric creatures and habitats, including plenty of bright and exotic plants, mammoths, and T. rexes.
The Dino Safari will also feature other dino-themed attractions. This includes an oviraptor ride, a fossils hunt, dino speedway ride, bounce houses, and Sandy Creek mining.
Tickets for the festival are $20 for the day session (4:30 to 6:30 p.m.) and $22 per ticket for the night session (6:30 to 9:30 p.m.). Children 3 and under are free. A bundle of four tickets is also available for $75 from Mondays to Thursdays. 2700 Potomac Mills Cir., Woodbridge
