Step into the warm embrace of Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, with a culinary journey through the region’s most desirable brunch spots. From quaint cafés to luxurious restaurants, consider Northern Virginia Magazine’s list of Mother’s Day brunch offerings while creating cherished moments. Your best bet is to make reservations. Here’s wishing all moms an unforgettable Mother’s Day experience. 

Alexandria 

Ada’s On The River 

10 a.m.–4 p.m. 

This popular waterfront restaurant is known for its selection of wood-fired prime steaks, fresh seafood, and vegetarian dishes centered around a wood-fired oven. Ada’s will open on Mother’s Day for brunch from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and for dinner from 4 to 11 p.m. In addition to the restaurant’s à la carte menu, the Insta-worthy restaurant will have specials like a crab omelet, Maine lobster Benedict, and strawberry white chocolate mousse. 3 Pioneer Mill Way, Alexandria

The Majestic 

10 a.m.–3 p.m. 

Established in 1932, The Majestic with its iconic neon sign storefront has been a landmark of Old Town dining for more than 80 years. The Majestic is open for Mother’s Day brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will serve dinner until 10 p.m. The restaurant will offer memorable specials that pair perfectly with the restaurant’s extensive wine and cocktail selection. Diners can order off the à la carte menu or dive into classic dishes like filet mignon Benedict, herb-crusted lamb chops, and dark chocolate mousse. 911 King St., Alexandria 

Royal Restaurant

7 a.m.–3 p.m.

Newly reopened, Royal Restaurant will have Mother’s Day brunch. Devour signature classics like waffles, pancakes, omelets, or French toast, or step out of your routine and ask for the house-smoked brisket torta, oatmeal pancakes, or summer squash fries. Mom will have lots of tempting choices. 730 N. St. Asaph St., Alexandria

Arlington 

Santé at The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City 

10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. 

This brunch includes a raw bar, grilled options, a carving station, salads, a curated hot menu, and delectable desserts. Reservations required. 1250 S. Hayes St., Arlington, $155 per person, $79 for children

Surreal  

10 a.m.–3 p.m. 

Set your GPS for this gourmet diner where you can get an à la carte brunch menu with classics like waffles, pancakes, and eggs. The brunch menu will include pasta, sandwiches, and salads. For those looking for a family-style menu, options include entrées of caccio e pepe risotto and lamb shank with hummus. 2117 Crystal Dr., Arlington 

Broadlands

Seatings at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4 p.m.   

Even the pickiest eaters will dive into the brunch buffet offerings here. Groups of seven or more should call for reservations. Reservations are available online for smaller groups. 43135 Broadlands Center Plz., Ste. 121, Broadlands, $40 for adults, $15 for kids 12 and under, free for children under 3 

Fairfax

Hamrock’s Restaurant 

Enjoy a brunch buffet that includes New York strip roast, three omelet options, classic breakfast items, pineapple maple–glazed ham, penne pasta with sautéed shrimp, and more. Housemade ice cream and other desserts will bring a sweet ending to a wonderful meal. 3950 Chain Bridge Rd., Fairfax, $35 per person, $15 for kids 10 and younger 

Alta Strada Mosaic 

Executive Chef Matt Smith’s brunch highlights include an omelet with goat cheese and eggs Benedict on focaccia. Enjoy cocktails on the patio. 2911 District Ave., Ste. 150, Fairfax 

Falls Church 

Trio Grill 

Trio Grill celebrates moms with a delicious brunch menu in addition to its regular offerings. Opening at 10:30 a.m., order entrées like the smoked salmon platter, crab cake Benedict, or a 7-ounce New York strip with eggs. Dine on the lovely, covered patio or in the expansive dining room. 8100 Lee Hwy., Ste. 300, Falls Church

Great Falls 

L’Auberge Chez François 

Seatings at 11:30 a.m., 3 p.m., and 6 p.m. 

If you’re in the market for an exquisite Mother’s Day meal, this restaurant has a prix-fixe menu with all the trappings. This award-winning French country destination will have a range of offerings, like onion soup, Maine rope mussels, oysters, snails, duck foie gras, veal, lamb, rainbow trout, and lobster. Be sure to make reservations. 332 Springvale Rd., Great Falls, $129–$148 for adults, $75 for children under 12 

Jacques’ Brasserie and Bar Rouge 

Seatings at 11:30 a.m., 3 p.m., and 6 p.m. 

This more casual outpost at L’Auberge Chez Francois will offer its traditional menu all day on Mother’s Day. Dine on Norweigan salmon, veal scallopini, rack of lamb, and beef Wellington. 332 Springvale Rd., Great Falls 

Leesburg 

The Conche 

Enjoy a three meal with plenty of choices and nice little extras like a mimosa and breakfast pastries for each guest. Main courses include fried chicken, huervos rancheros, and avocado flatbread. 1605 Village Market Blvd. SE, Ste. J108, Leesburg, $68 for adults, $30 for kids 

Tuscarora Mill 

10 a.m.–2 p.m. 

Tuscarora Mill has Sunday brunch down to a science. You can build your own buffet. Or go for one of its brunch specials, like fried chicken and waffle, housemade lobster quiche, and poached eggs Chesapeake. 203 Harrison St., Leesburg, $36 for adults, $19.95 for children

Lansdowne Resort 

10 a.m.–2 p.m. 

What’s not to love about a breathtaking buffet chock full of Mom’s favorites? Everyone in your party will immerse themselves in plates of prime rib, pork belly, stuffed chicken, cauliflower and artichoke casserole, and breakfast specialties. Kids have their own special buffet that includes chicken fingers, meatballs, and butter pasta with tomato sauce. 44050 Woodridge Pkwy., Leesburg, $95 for adults: $45 for children ages 5–12, free for children under 5 

Manassas 

The Black Sheep 

Seating at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 3 p.m. 

Make your reservation today for Mother’s Day Brunch at Brentsville Hall. This country-chic event welcomes diners to the Farm Brew Live campus and a staggering selection of culinary options. Enjoy a specially curated brunch including carving stations for lamb, prime rib, and glazed ham, as well as a seafood bar with oysters, crab legs, and shrimp. You’ll be able to have your omelet customized, as well as your pasta. 9935 Discovery Blvd., Manassas, $100 for adults, $28 for children 4–12, free for kids under 4 

McLean 

J. Gilbert’s Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood

10 a.m.–2 p.m. 

Mom will savor hand-carved prime rib, omelets, mini waffles, and bagels. Load up on fresh salads and fruits as well as hot and cold dishes. Brunch cocktails are extra. 6930 Old Dominion Dr., McLean, $49 for adults, $21 for children 5-12, free for kids under 5

Maggiano’s 

This Tysons Galleria restaurant will have a three-course, family-style menu of two starters, two entrées, and two desserts. Enjoy featured dishes like heirloom tomato burrata and lobster ravioli, specially curated beef, salmon, chicken, and seafood dishes. 2001 International Dr., McLean 

Capital Grille 

10 a.m.–2 p.m. 

Let Mom indulge in a 14-ounce bone-in dry-aged New York strip steak and eggs, lobster frittata, crab cake Benedict, or an 8-ounce filet mignon. The kids’ brunch menu includes mini cheeseburgers and French toast. 1861 International Dr., McLean 

Eddie V’s Prime Seafood 

10 a.m.–2 p.m. 

The restaurant has a two-course menu for Mother’s Day. The three choices for the first course are Norwegian smoked salmon, Maine lobster bisque, or a mixed green salad. The main course choices are lobster quiche Florentine, steak and frittata, or roasted avocado and jumbo lump crab. Kids can have a first course of fruit and entrée options of scrambled eggs with cheese, chicken fingers, mac and cheese, or grilled chicken. 7900 Tysons One Pl., McLean, $55 for adults, $17 for children

Entyse Brunch at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner 

This destination offers a delectable brunch buffet including standouts like a salad display, soup station, carving station, charcuterie board station, bake shop, and dessert display. Reservations required. 1700 Tysons Blvd., McLean, $149 for adults, $60 for children ages 4–12 

Purcellville 

Magnolias at the Mill 

Head here for a memory-making experience at a premier American restaurant. Frequent the carving station for prime rib, honey ham, and leg of lamb. There will be local cheeses and charcuterie. An omelet station will be set up, or opt for shrimp and grits, blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, or gouda mac and cheese. The seductive dessert display will have chocolate croissants, cannoli, and chocolate-covered strawberries among its offerings. Brunch cocktails are extra. 198 N. 21st St., Purcellville, $50 for adults, $25 for kids 12 and under 

Reston

Founding Farmers  

7:30 a.m.–2 p.m. 

Founding Farmers will serve its classic breakfast and brunch selections. Eat, drink, and be merry with scrambled eggs, buttermilk pancakes, biscuits, kale salad, and cornbread. Sample entrée items like roast beef, glazed ham, spicy fried chicken, lasagna, and meatloaf. Be sure to save room for glazed donuts and butterscotch bread pudding, just two of the dessert options. The restaurant is also offering a Mother’s Day Brunch at Home package that is a complete brunch for four. You need to order by noon on May 7. 1800 Tysons Blvd., Tysons; 1904 Reston Metro Plz., Reston; $34.99 for adults, $17.99 for children 7-12, kids 6 and under free  

Davio’s Italian Steakhouse 

10 a.m.–1 p.m. 

The Mother’s Day brunch menu features choices that include Greek yogurt, avocado toast with over-easy eggs, French toast, eggs Benedict, or steak and eggs. The dinner menu is available all day. Save room for warm butter cake or orange creme brûlée — and be sure to tell Mom you love her. 1902 Reston Metro Plz., Reston   

 Sixty Vines Reston

Sixty Vines at Reston Town Center will offer its regular menu on Mother’s Day, but created a boozy treat that Mom will love. She will want to sip on the Matcha Martini, a fusion of flavors that’s as cool as she is. Crafted with Wheatly vodka, Crème de Cacao blanc, and a splash of creamy oat milk, the earthy notes of matcha add a refreshing zing, making every sip an adventure for the taste buds. 11905 Market St., Reston 

Vienna 

Joon 

10 a.m.–4 p.m. 

Treat mom to a decadent, Persian-inspired brunch. Offerings include an unlimited small plates option; think chicken or lamb kabobs, baba ganoush, toshka, and more. Diners may opt to choose from the à la carte favorites like the smoked salmon omelet or the Joon burger. Each party of two will be entered into a raffle to win a private dinner at the winner’s home cooked by James Beard award-winning chef and owner Chris Morgan. 8045 Leesburg Pk., Ste. 120, Vienna, $45 per person
