Light Petting
For the first time in the better part of a decade, I have a cat of my own. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to sneak around on him and pet other cats. I do. And I want to do it while I eat a grilled cheese. So I’m going to Mount Purrnon in Alexandria to cheat on my cat with a room full of adoptable felines. Fingers crossed I don’t bring him home a new friend. –Alice Levitt, food editor/critic
Future Nostalgia
Back in September, my friend and I anxiously waited to buy tickets to see Dua Lipa in the spring. And after months of anticipation, the moment is finally here. Future Nostalgia was one of the albums that got me through the first year of the pandemic and is still a regular on all of my Spotify playlists, so to say I’m excited for Wednesday night is an understatement. –Michele Kettner, associate digital & research editor
That’s a Spicy Meatless Ball-a!
I’m heading to Farmtruck Pizza & Greens for Meatless Monday, of course! I’m not the BIGGEST salad devotee of all time, but this crunchy Thai version sounds yummy, and I’m always down for a slice! –Kelly Kendall, editor
Times of Trouble
Busboys and Poets is one of our favorite open mic venues, but they’ll also be hosting a State of the Union watch party on March 1 at all their locations (both within and surrounding DC). If it leaves you stressed, you can take the short trip to the Russian embassy and let them know. –James Finley, senior editor
