March is Women’s History Month, and the Crystal City Business Improvement District is celebrating by hosting a “Women in STEM” panel to discuss the progress and the remaining challenges of gender parity, specifically in STEM-related fields.
In partnership with U.Group and Axios, the panel discussion will be held on March 20. In Crystal City, more than half of the workforce has a background in STEM. The panel will tackle the issue of gender equality in the field on a local level.
The panel will be moderated by Erica Pandley, the e-commerce reporter at Axios. The panel includes Lena Trudeau, CEO of U.Group; Dr. Carol O’Donnell, director of the Smithsonian Science Education Center; Rachel Golden Kroner, social scientist at the Moore Center for Science at Conservation International; and Hana Hassen, an enterprise software engineer at Capital One.
The event will consist of registration, breakfast and networking from 7:30-8 a.m., and the panel discussion and Q&A session will be held from 8:15-9:30 a.m. The event is being held at U.Group. Tickets are $40, and can be bought here. // U.Group: 2231 Crystal Drive, Suite 401, Arlington; $40
