It’s still the beginning of the year, and that means its time to get out of our comfort zones. This week’s comfort zone to break through is singing. This means means that all that singing in the shower is about to pay off. Maybe you just watched “20 Feet from Stardom“ and want to challenge your vocal cords and your courage this weekend.
We’ve got you covered with five of the best spots in NoVA to break out the jams. We recommend bringing some friends, because you can always use backup singers.
Nick’s Nightclub
Even if you consider yourself a devotee of all music, sometimes you just feel like singing the soulful sounds of country, and there’s nothing odd about that. From 8:30 p.m. to 1:3o a.m. every Friday and Saturday night, you can let yourself be a little bit country in the back room of Nick’s Nightclub. If you’re feeling a little Rock n’ Roll, Nick’s has you covered too. The Karaoke at Nick’s covers a little bit of everything. There is a $7 cover charge for guys, and a $5 charge for ladies after 9 p.m.
