Want to see some high-level go-kart action? K1 Speed’s Virginia State Championship is set for Sunday, February 1, at 8 a.m. at K1 Speed Dulles in Sterling.
The competition will feature go-kart racers from Manassas, Richmond, and Dulles. Garrett Manes, the defending adult E-world champion representing Richmond, will be on hand to defend his title.
The go-kart races will include two two-lap qualifying sessions and one 12-lap race. The top three podium finishers from each age class — junior, teen, and adult — will earn a chance to compete for the national championship in Southern California in May.
The national championship races will feature drivers from 10 countries and a combined prize pool of $79,000.
