All you dinosaur lovers out there will need to take a trip to Winchester in the coming months. At the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, dinosaurs and prehistoric animals have come to life with the museum’s latest outdoor exhibit, Scraposaurs.
The exhibit, which is open through October 19, is created by artist Dale Lewis. Located through the museum’s gardens, the exhibit features 14 dinosaurs and prehistoric animals made completely out of scrap metal.

Highlights of the Scraposaurs exhibit include a woolly rhino covered in 600 pounds of tie wire “hair” and an 1,800-pound T. rex with ribs and teeth made from a John Deere rotary hoe.
The limited-time exhibit also features a dinosaur-themed pop-up shop with dino related merch and ice cream treats.

Admission to the museum includes access to the garden exhibit and the indoor galleries. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for kids ages 13 to 18 and seniors 60 and older, $5 for kids ages 5 to 12, and free for museum members and kids ages 4 and under. Discounted tickets are available when purchased in advance.
The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. 901 Amherst St., Winchester
