Ready to sprinkle a little magic onto your weekend? Prepare for a mix of whimsical tales, toe-tapping music, and vibrant markets happening this weekend in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, all inviting you to embrace the season’s charm. Whether you’re seeking a cozy evening by the campfire or a way to observe Veteran’s Day, there’s an adventure waiting just around the corner.  

A Midsummer Night’s Dream 

November 7–9, 7 p.m. 

Westfield Theatre presents Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Christine Maxted. This classic comedy, filled with love, magic, and mischief, follows four Athenians who get caught up in magical mishaps in the forest. Westfield High School: 4700 Stonecroft Blvd., Chantilly, $10–$15 

Mariachi Herencia de México 

November 8, 8 p.m. 

This Latin Grammy–nominated group, known for blending traditional mariachi with a mix of Latin influences, will showcase songs from their latest album. The Barns at Wolf Trap: 1635 Trap Rd., Vienna, starting at $50 

Don Toliver 

November 8, 8 p.m. 

Rapper Don Toliver will bring his Psycho Tour to EagleBank Arena, featuring songs from his album Hardstone Psycho. Teezo Touchdown and Monaleo will join him as special guests. EagleBank Arena: 4500 Patriot Cir., Fairfax, resale starting at $122 

31st Annual Northern Virginia Christmas Market 

November 8–10, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. 

The market showcases 225 artisans from over 30 states with a wide array of items, including fine arts, pottery, jewelry, and Christmas collectibles, along with food vendors. Dulles Expo Center: 4320 Chantilly Shopping Ctr., Chantilly, $9 for adults, free for kids under 12 

18th Annual Parade of Trabants 

November 9, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. 

Celebrate the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall at the only Trabant rally in the United States. These quirky little cars, affectionately known as “cardboard cars,” are seen as “a symbol of East Germany and the fall of Communism,” the Spy Museum says. While you’re reveling in the vintage Cold War–era vehicles, you can groove to the Alte Kameraden German Band. Paws & Pints: Adoption Day with Mutt Love Rescue 

November 9, noon–4 p.m. 

This event at Eavesdrop Brewery, hosted by no-kill dog rescue Mutt Love Rescue, offers a chance to meet adorable, adoptable pups while enjoying a refreshing beer. Grind 

November 9, 4–9 p.m. 

At this family-friendly pop-up art show, see original black-and-white works on sheet music from artist Kevin Bednarz, as well as works from other area artists Andrew Katz, Tiphanie Forst, and Eric Thompson. The event also includes live music, appetizers, and complimentary cocktails. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Loudoun First Responders Foundation. 506B Fort Evans Rd., Leesburg, free 

Park After Dark 

November 9, 4:30–6:30 p.m. 

Trade screen time for moonlight on a night hike, explore nature with your favorite nocturnal critters, or gather ‘round the campfire for s’mores and stories under the stars. Families can go for a gentle stroll on the Osprey View Trail, and adults and teens can take a longer hike on Kane’s Creek Trail. Either way, cozy blankets are welcome. Legend of the White Snake 

November 9, 7:30 p.m. 

Legend of the White Snake is a modern retelling of a classic Chinese folktale accompanied by live music from Chinese dulcimer musician Chao Tian. This production includes three original pieces, each exploring themes of love, healing, and the wisdom of elders. Capital One Hall: 7750 Capital One Tower Rd., Tysons, starting at $48.50 

Mandy Gonzalez 

November 9, 8 p.m. 

Known for roles in Hamilton and Wicked, Broadway powerhouse Mandy Gonzalez will be joined by the Osbourn Park High School Madrigal Singers for an inspiring night celebrating the community’s veterans. The Capital Wind Symphony’s Intergalactic Soundscapes 

November 10, 3 p.m. 

This concert features music from John Williams, including themes from Star Wars and E.T., alongside Gustav Holst’s “Jupiter” and contemporary pieces like Roshanne Etezady’s Forty-Eight Colors of the Full Moon. Capital One Hall: 7750 Capital One Tower Rd., Tysons, starting at $20 

Ashley Kutcher 

November 10, 6:30 p.m. 

Baltimore singer-songwriter Ashley Kutcher, known for songs like “Love You from a Distance” that gained popularity on TikTok, brings her acoustic and country-influenced style to the Atlantis. Arturo Sandoval 

November 10, 7 p.m. 

Jazz legend Arturo Sandoval takes the stage with his Grammy Award–winning trumpet skills and boundless energy. Known for his fusion of Afro-Cuban jazz and bebop, Sandoval’s performance will delight all ages. George Mason Center for the Arts: 4373 Mason Pond Dr., Fairfax, $35–$55 

Mount Vernon Salutes Veterans 

November 11, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. 

Mount Vernon will offer free admission to veterans and military service members on Veteran’s Day. A variety of events will take place throughout the day, including musical performances, a floral tribute at the Tomb, and educational activities about Revolutionary War flags. George Washington’s Mount Vernon: 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Hwy., Mount Vernon, $13–$26 for non-military, free admission to all active duty, former, and retired military personnel
