As the vibrant blooms of May unfold, so does a lineup filled with fun and festivities. Whether it’s exploring the whimsical world of Cirque du Soleil, sampling NoVA’s finest cuisines, or enjoying the performing arts, there’s plenty to enrich your spring. Here are 15 May events that offer a great time in NoVA and Washington, DC.

DC Boat Show at National Harbor

May 3–5

Boat enthusiasts can tour new and pre-owned vessels that are up for immediate sale or to order at this second annual weekend event. There will also be live music, food and drinks, vendor tents with boating gear, and a golf simulator. Ages 21 and up. 165 Waterfront St., National Harbor, Maryland, $30; $20 for military, veterans, and first responders

Northern Virginia Tea Festival

May 4–5

This annual tea festival features over 50 tea vendors, as well as classes and demonstrations. Learn about tea brewing and traditions and enjoy tastings and cultural activities. It’s a must for both tea aficionados and the uninitiated. A special “tea excursion” on the second day offers a visit to a tea farm, lunch and dinner, and an exclusive look at tea shop production facilities. Elden Street Tea Shop: 1633 Washington Plz., Ste. Annual Loco Food Truck Festival

The Drowsy Chaperone
