The Master of Suspense
With just over two weeks left until Halloween, I plan to continue my month of fright with some movies. While I have been filling my nights with Hocus Pocus, Beetlejuice and The Addams Family, it is time to up the fright. While I’m not a fan of scary movies and gore, every now and then I can get behind a good thriller. To fill my need for a scare, I’m going to the Angelika Film Center for its monthlong Hitchcocktober and a screening of The Birds. To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever watched the whole film, but I’m excited for some additional Halloween spookiness. Flying Through Fall
I’m not outdoorsy, but as I’ve said before in this space, fall weather can draw me out of my bubble for a few weeks out of the year. A childhood jaunt to a ropes course resulted in me spending seven years in bed due to Lyme disease, but until I got sick, it was one of my fondest memories. Now, I’m ready to get back in the harness. Time for Pumpkin Picking
While I’m still on the fence about whether or not I’m going to let my kids do some sort of modified trick or treating (Either way, I’m definitely dressing them up!), I do know that we’re going to mask up and head out for some pumpkin picking. As I write this, I’m trying to decide which of these 10 places we’re going to go this weekend. Wherever we end up, we’ll get some pumpkins, take some cute photos and head back to our backyard for pumpkin decorating and sitting around our new fire pit! -Katie Bianco, editor
