The play critics are calling the best musical of the decade returns to the Kennedy Center this summer. From the creators of “South Park,” “The Book of Mormon” made waves with its controversial parody of Mormonism, going on to win nine Tony Awards and four Olivier Awards. / June 16-Aug. 16

218th Annual Cajun Festival & Crawfish Boil
Take a trip to the Breaux Vineyards this month for a special celebration of all things Cajun. Featuring live music, wine tastings and a famous view of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, this year’s festival won’t disappoint. There will be clowns, balloons and face painting for kids and a complimentary souvenir wine glass for adults. / June 13

This year’s beer festival shows beer lovers the inner workings of craft beer, including how to make it yourself. 4National Symphony Orchestra: ‘Back to the Future’
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, “Back to the Future” returns to the big screen at Wolf Trap. See the ’80s classic in HD with live accompaniment by the National Symphony Orchestra. Led by conductor Emil de Cou, the orchestra presents 15 minutes of never-before-heard music to go with the original film. / June 19

5DC Jazz Festival
The world-famous annual jazz festival returns to Washington this summer. Featuring over 100 jazz performances throughout many venues in the D.C. area, this year’s festival includes big names such as multiple award-winner Common, Grammy Award-winning band Snarky Puppy and NEA Jazz Master Paquito D’Rivera. / June 6-16
