If you’ve ever had the desire to watch someone swallow a long, pointed metal object, this might be the perfect show for you. Cofounders of the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus Keith Nelson and Stephanie Monseu are set to perform at The State Theatre in Great Falls Saturday for the One Night Only Comedy and Variety Show.

After 20 years of performing at internationally renowned venues such as the legendary “Late Show with David Letterman” and “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno, this dynamic duo is set to keep Northern Virginians on the edge of their seats with knife juggling, plate spinning and other thrilling activities.

The show’s hosts, world yo-yo champion Mark Hayward and comedian/contortionist Jonathan Burns, began One Night Only in 2014 as a collaborative comedic venture where acts go beyond a typical cabaret-style showcase. According to Burns, audiences can definitely “expect the unexpected.”

After finding inspiration at a Lowe’s home improvement store, Burns plans on breaking the Guinness World Record for the fastest time taken to put his entire body through a toilet seat in three repetitions. At a show in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, he broke the record for the number of repetitions a person can put their whole body through a toilet seat in a minute. The record was nine. He did it 10 times.

Other performers set to take the stage include one-man-band Nick DiSanto and stand-up comedian Chip Chantry. DiSanto performs with his homemade contraption dubbed the DiSantomophone. Chantry was recently named 2015’s Best Stand-Up Comedian in the annual Philadelphia Comedy Awards.

Expecting the unexpected seems to be the makeshift slogan for this off-beat show. Audiences will surely be amused by the oddball performers who never seem to reveal what’ll happen next on stage.

One Night Only Comedy and Variety Show

220 N. Washington St., Falls Church
Doors open at 8 p.m.; show begins at 9
