A new grocery store is arriving in Northern Virginia. Budget grocery chain Lidl has announced that it will host a grand opening for its new Falls Church store on Wednesday, August 12.
The store will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. On August 12 for the grand opening the first 100 customers will get Lidl gift cards ranging from $5 to $100. Plus, there will be additional giveaways of free samples and Lidl swag.
The new store is located at 7511 Leesburg Pike, taking over a portion of the space vacated by the Whole Foods Market that closed in February 2025, FFXNow reported. The rest of the space will be occupied by South Block, Potbelly, and Qdoba.
Lidl originated in Germany, but the American version of the grocery chain is actually headquartered in Arlington. It’s known for affordable grocery staples in private labels that are exclusive to Lidl, as well as many American brands.
