A New Thrift Store Is Now Open in Fredericksburg

The line of shoppers waiting to enter Uptown Cheapskate wrapped around the building.

It’s hard to turn down a good deal, especially when it comes to clothes. To find low-cost clothes, shoes, and accessories, check out Fredericksburg’s newest thrift store, Uptown Cheapskate. The store had a grand opening February 26, with a line of excited shoppers that wrapped around the building.

The grand opening celebrations continue through March 1. Events include a store credit treasure hunt where shoppers can search coupons hidden throughout the shelves with amounts that range from $5 to $100, giveaways, and a premium athletic drop on Friday and Saturday.

Located next to Wegmans on Carl D. Silver Parkway, the Fredericksburg store is the first NoVA location of the national brand. Uptown Cheapskate has more than 160 franchise locations in the U.S. and 17 locations throughout the DMV.

The thrift store’s racks are full of the latest trends, from activewear to seasonal apparel to shoes and purses. Shoppers will also be able to find name brand finds including Dr. Martens, Lululemon, and Zara at up to 70% off retail prices.

As a resale store, Uptown Cheapskate also buys gently used clothes. Bring clean, in-style, and good-condition clothing and accessories in store for review. If the store chooses to buy your items, you can decide between receiving immediate cash or earning 25% more in store credit for items that are accepted.

Uptown Cheapskate is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Buying hours end an hour before the store closes. 2293 Carl D. Silver Pkwy., Fredericksburg
