4 Vintage Bridal Shops to Shop for a Timeless Gown

Dresses from yesteryear can get a second walk down the aisle when you shop at these vintage shops in the DMV.

By Heather Bien December 27, 2024 at 8:40 am

If you find yourself scrolling through bridal photos of yesteryear, intrigued by the romance of flowing sleeves and delicate embroidery, then a vintage dress could be the answer to your wedding dreams.

Luckily, Northern Virginia and the surrounding area has several vintage dress shops where you can find a gently used gown. You could find everything from a chic 1960s ensemble to a full, puff-sleeved 1980s dress if you’re looking for something beautifully over-the-top. Shopping vintage can be a budget-friendly and eco-friendly way to say yes to the dress.

From non-profit bridal boutiques that take donations of gently used and vintage dresses to shops that specialize in secondhand gowns, these bridal shops cater to those looking for an affordable and sustainable way to walk down the aisle.

Fairfax Bridal Thrift Boutique

Wedding gowns are available at Fairfax Bridal Thrift Boutique starting at just $100, and they span eras and styles. The curated dresses at this bridal shop are both gently used and new, and their approach is to combine both affordability and sustainability. You’ll save money and give a wedding dress a second walk down the aisle. Profits from this not-for-profit organization go to Schools at Peace, which supports children’s education in conflict settings. They accept donations of both wedding dresses and general formal gowns. 450 Maple Ave. E., Vienna

St. Anthony’s Bridal

At St. Anthony’s Bridal, you’ll find stunning gowns that have been donated by past brides in the community. Volunteers staff the shop, which was founded by a veteran of the wedding industry, and appointments are available for brides-to-be who want to turn their wedding gown search into a shopping experience. 10560 Main St., Ste. 401, Fairfax

Love Couture Bridal

Love Couture Bridal’s Vintage Vault is where you’ll find one of the most beautifully curated collections of vintage gowns. Their selection spans the decades, with designer gowns ranging from the 1950s through the 2000s. You’ll find a dress no one else will have, and you can outfit your entire wedding weekend with vintage pieces. Shop here for items for your engagement, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, and more. 12500-B Park Potomac Ave., Potomac, Maryland

Cherie Sustainable Bridal

Every gown at Cherie Sustainable Bridal comes from donations, and the shop focuses on creating a meaningful experience that is similar to what you’d experience in a high-end boutique. There are gowns across price ranges and decades, so you can find something for every style. Every gown at the organization has been donated, and each purchase benefits the boutique’s non-profit organization, Success in Style, which supports individuals who are in-crisis and seeking employment. Old Weave Building: 8600 Foundry St., Savage, Maryland
