Ikea fans won’t have to drive to Woodbridge or College Park to purchase items or use the store’s interior design planning services. The new Chantilly Ikea will officially open its doors on June 18. This will be Ikea’s seventh location in the greater Washington area.
The grand opening begins at 8 a.m. Thursday and features a ribbon-cutting and Swedish wood-cutting ceremony, along with opening remarks. Doors will open at 9:35 a.m., giving customers an early look at the merchandise. There will also be giveaways, coffee, and pastries during the event.

The 107,000-square-foot store has 7,700 items on display, with 4,400 available for immediate purchase. Larger items can be purchased online for in-store pickup or home delivery. This Ikea has one of the brand’s signature staged rooms for every room you can think of, including kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, closets, and more.

The store also includes interior design planning services by Ikea experts to help customers create their dream homes. Shoppers can browse and test a selection of cabinets, tiling, hardware, and flooring in store or search for it online.

The store also features an “As-Is” area with second-hand Ikea products, as part of the company’s mission to provide functional and sustainable home solutions. Customers can buy lightly used furniture and decor for a fraction of the price.
Aside from the home goods, you can also find Ikea’s famous Swedish meatballs at the marketplace and bistro. Frozen and ready-to-eat meals, pastries, coffee, and snacks will be available for purchase.
The Chantilly Ikea will be open Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. 4320 Chantilly Shopping Center Dr., Chantilly
