Costco stores have a dedicated fan following. But several Northern Virginia locations have landed on a new “worst-rated” list.
The Costco on South Fern Street in Arlington is the sixth-worst rated in America, according to web SEO company seobacklinks.com. It’s also the lowest-rated in Virginia, averaging 4.31 stars from 5,785 Google reviews. In June, one reviewer wrote: “The worst Costco I’ve ever been to. Always a problem and I absolutely love and adore Costco.”
The West Ox Road location in Fairfax didn’t fare well, either. It rated the eighth worst in the country and second worst in Virginia at 4.33 stars. “I spent 30 minutes circling the parking lot looking for a place to park on a Saturday afternoon,” a March review says.
According to the list, the Sterling location at 21398 Price Cascades Plz. is the fourth worst-rated in Virginia; the Costco at 10701 Sudley Manor Dr. in Manassas is fifth. “This Costco is always busy. They are frequently out of stock on items they carry and now with the expansion they are carrying less,” a reviewer wrote of the Manassas store.
The Chantilly location at 14390 Chantilly Crossing Ln. rated the sixth worst in Virginia. “There’s only 3 checkouts and the self checkout line stretched all the way back to the clothes section,” an October reviewer wrote.
The Costco at 2700 Potomac Mills Circle in Woodbridge was the seventh worst-rated in the state; the Springfield location at 7373 Boston Blvd. and an Alexandria store at 7940 Richmond Hwy. tied for 10th.
“The 17 Virginia warehouses in the ranking average 4.45, making Virginia the fourth lowest-rated state for Costco out of the 20 states with at least 10 warehouses in the ranking,” seobacklinks.com says.
A Costco in Longmont, Colorado, was the worst rated in the U.S. with a score of 3.96 based on 710 reviews. The best rated store is in Venice, Florida, with 4.64 based on 1,021 reviews.
